An inexperienced U14s team kept their spirits high, despite games against two difficult opponents in their National League games on Saturday 15 December.
Illness and absences meant we had a slightly depleted team. Two U11s, Alex and Masha, volunteered to play for the first time at this level, and played a full role in the games showing determination and perseverance.
City started the day with a game against a tough Norfolk Dragons team, and after taking an early lead, with a goal by Alesia, went on to concede 22, scoring only one more – a great long shot from Reuben.
The second game against Tigers followed a similar pattern, although this time City scored three times, with penalties scored by Boaz and Reuben, and a goal from open play by Reuben, making him our top scorer of the day.
In both games, City struggled to create many scoring opportunities, but kept going to the end. Lots of learning points from the games, and we’ll come back stronger for the next round of matches on 12 January 2020.
